eUnited punched their ticket to ESL One New York after defeating FURIA in two maps in the grand final of the North American closed qualifier.
The tournament featured a slightly different set of teams from the one originally announced, with INTZ and New Identity being called at the last minute to replace Ghost and Cloud9.
Complexity took revenge against Envy for the defeat in the IEM Chicago qualifier in the headline match of the first round but were then eliminated in the semi-finals by eUnited in a two-map series.
MarKE led the charge for eUnited against FURIA
On the other side of bracket, Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato stole the show as he inspired FURIA to reach the final stage with a 1.39 rating in the three-map victory over TeamOne and a 1.61 rating in the 2-0 success over Lazarus.
The Brazilian youngster carried that form into the final, but he was still powerless to prevent eUnited from running away with the victory. The North American side were far too strong on Overpass, where they claimed a 16-3 victory thanks to a dominant performance by Edgar "MarKE" Maldonado (+24 KDD, 2.57 rating). Vertigo, FURIA's map pick, was a much tighter affair, but Austin "Cooper" Abadir's charges still pulled through with another 30-bomb, this time by Kaleb "moose" Jayne.
eUnited are now the fourth team confirmed for ESL One New York, joining the invited trio of Liquid, Astralis and ENCE. The event will be held at the Barclays Center from September 26-29, with $200,000 on offer.
The team list for the event currently looks as follows:
